I graduated from the Textile department at the Canberra School of Art in 1997. Shortly afterwards I began work supporting a fellow textile artist Christopher McLauchlan who has autism, to develop his work and put on exhibitions. Recently he has been involved with Studio Connect working on various art projects which I have had the pleasure of helping with as well. When I came across the Textile Map Project I was very excited as the group were already working on mapping, exploring their brains. The group rose to the challenge of creating a textile artwork which extended beautifully into this joint piece “Sliver Lining.” In my own work I enjoy bringing the mediums of photography and textiles together and refer to myself as a mixed media artist.
